The 2008 season for CCI's Cross-Country Running team was one of its best ever and the owls have begun to establish a bit of a dynasty in Simcoe County and even at the GBSSA level. This year the team was almost 60 strong and every individual made a contribution to the team's triumphs. Once again, the 'Black Sea" washed over the trails of Simcoe County with Collingwood Collegiate winning all four league meets en route to a seventh consecutive Golden Boot as Simcoe County Overall Champions.
This season saw the Owl's winn ing streak extend to 32 straight meet victories! In addition, as part of that streak, the Owls went on to dominate at the GBSSA Championships at Horseshoe Resort as all six tea ms added point to an overall score that was good enough to capture out fourth straight GB Girls and Boys Overall Championship. Other highlights included the CCI Midget Girls' Team placing first at the highly competitive Cardinal Carter Invitational Meet in T oronto.
