The 2008 Track & Field Team boasted a talented group of 29 athletes and served notice that they could be competitive for years with many great performances from the 'young-guns' on the team. At North Zones 26 of the 29 performed so well that they earned spots at the GBSSA Championships. 14 first place finishes amongst a total of 38 top-three results made for an impressive start to the season.
At GB's, the Owls again showed their impressive skills as 18 of CCI's 24 competitors qualified in the top 5 of their events to go on to the OFSAA Central Regional meet along with all three of CCI's relay teams. At Regionals, 10 Owls posted top-ten finishes against powerful competition from GB, Y ork Region as well as the Oshawa/Pickering Region. In the end, Micheala Martin placed first in the Junior Javelin and Jon Wolf grabbed fourth in Midget High Jump to earn spots at the OFSAA finals where they placed 17th and 1Oth respectively in all of Ontario.
