THE GLEANER
A great plague has fallen on the C. C. I. in this year 1926. Many are the victims of a terrible scourge and vice which has laid its uncleanly and ungodly hands upon our domain.
Probably the people most afflicted are the students of 3B. Their talents are being squandered-their good reputation is approaching ruin. Dorothy Ball has felt the fangs of this cruel monster. James Griffis has not escaped. Wilmer Fawcett, pro- bably the levelest head in our room, has been blighted in his great ambition of getting 102% in Latin, all on account of this plague.
It is our form teacher's horror to see the pupils of 3B (the star pupils of the C. C. I.) indulge in such a terrible and imbicu- ating vice. It has become in fact a disease, the international vice of the poor C. C. I. Little do·the teachers realize the terrible mental struggle and the exercising of wills that come to stu- dents who try to break off this terrible habit.
Maud Brown is afflicted. It has become actually a part of Muriel Dowdle. Without it life to her would be meaningless.
Fat Wright and Mervyn Walters are now artists at this scourge. Harry Sproule and Eliz. Moffatt are not free from it. Alas! Alas! I cannot partake in this curse of copper-match-
The second forms, 2A and 2B, are situated on the south- east corner of the new C. C. I., 2A being farther east. These two forms are hy far the best in the school and if you don't be- lieve it, just ask somebody in second form. If you want another opinion, just ask Mr. Ball or Miss Clark.

Len Crawley was exceptionally good in school to-day. Miss
Stewart only sent him out once. Miss Kennedy just told him tu stay in for one week and he only has to wash bottles for Mr. Felker for two more nights.

Royal Allen, alias "Criddle"-A gentleman of fine, refined tastes, tall in stature, curly hair and a smiling smile. Can be de- tected by his favorite tune, "Turkey in the Straw," which he sings, whistles, hums or haws.
Kathryn Bell-Bright eyes, pretty cheeks. Champion fiddler of North-east of the Auditorium. Can be detected by her speed. Agnes Bellman-The belle of the Fifth Form, cheery, pretty and excellent in manner and studies. Can be recognized by
neat and trim ways.
Robert Louis Stephenson Johnston, alias "Bob"-A great, big,
fat, sleek man with a great, big, soft spot in his heart for
someone. Recognized by his favorite sport of "blowing his nose".
