ning and defensive efforts.
Jack Portilantl-Centre half. We could write pages on this super-man but our space is confined. As a kicker he had no equal. On end runs and steady tackfield work he was 100% and one of the most reliable men the seniors had. It might
also be mentioned he made an 8Q yard run against Barrie for a touchdown.
Bill Newby- Flying wing. The iron man of the team. A sixty minute man goes after full s.team both backwards and forwards. He was a reliable tall carrier and good catch and an excellent tacklei'.
Herb S11ronle- Left outside. A fast and sure tackler. He took part in every play
and seldom missed a tack!<>
Bnil Conn~Right outside. Bud sure made good in his first year of rugby. He was a like a race horse. When he went around hard tackler and very shifty on the defense.
Ewart. "Sub" Comwlly--Outside wing. Another of this most athletic family have fought for the C.C.I. "Sub" was a consis- .tant, tackler and could fill in very well at flying wing.
Alex. Sta)llP.~- Inside wing. Alex. was the terror of the opponent's wing line. When be went into action there was no stopping to him. He could taclde when everyone else couldn'.t and could carry a ball with his eyes shut. Hurrah for Alex.
