The Junior.s did well although they
won no firsts. Peter Bernhardt was their only winner, coming sec•ond m the pole vault. This event was won with a vault of 8' 6".
KINGSTON MEET
At the Ontario School Boys' Pro- vincial Meet held in Richardson ~ta­ dium, Kingston, Jack Portland car- ried the Black and Yellow to vic- tory in the High Jump. Jack won this event with a leap of 5' 8" wh:ch
equaUed the Ontario Reo:>rd. Jack decided to set a new record and the bar went up one half an inch. The first two attempts were failures but with every eye in the crowd on him,
Jack .sailed over his last try. Port- -land is Intermediate again this year and has mastered the roll style of jumping. It is reported that he has C<leared 5' 10" in practice and the C.C.I. is expecting Jack to break his own record at Hamilton this sum-
mer.
K.en Guilfoyle was our other re- presentative in Kingston. He was entered for the 440 yard dash and aualified for the finals. He placed fourth. This race was run in the exceedingly fast time of 53 2-5 seconds. And Ken is to be congratu- lated on his good showing.
