SENIOR FOOTBALL
Senior football, again this year, lacked something. I cannot say it was spirit or coaching, because both were at the utmost of their potential. The team started the season with a big victory over Owen Sound. However, this was only an exhibition game. The rest of the season was
filled with losses.
I think a great deal of credit should be given to the boys who tried out,
because the team was at its minimum of number.
Steve Geddes, Terry Geddes, Al Hume and Jim Stephenson played
well on the offensive, while Danny Beggs, Gregg Arnason and Jerry Chomyn held up the defence.
Charlie Evans and Chuck Simonato dazzled the opposition with many fine runs. A former soccer player, Doug Dowling was the punter and field goal kicker. He handled his job most competently.
In conclusion, I would like to say thank you to the coaches, trainers and BAA for making the season enjoyable if not successful.
