JUNIOR FOOTBALL TEAM
The 1982 season had several highlights and a few disappointments. We opened with a crushing 38 to 0 loss to Park Street. This might have signalled a dismal season, but in the interval before game two, the team worked very hard on desire and on fundamental skills. As a result. we won the next three games. Then we met Park Street for a return match. This time we were ready, and fought them tooth and nail in a tough game which wasn't decided until the final minutes, when they finally won. This loss was our biggest disappointment, but we had the satisfaction of giving the first place team their toughest game to that date. We finished the season with 3 wins and 3 losses for a 4th place tie. The tie- breaker against Bradford was lost, thus keeping us out of the playoffs, for another disappointment.
The following team awards were presented at the team banquet: Offense- Mike Christie
Defense- Andy Fawcett
Lineman- Roger King
Most Improved- Gord McArthur Spirit and Sportsmanship- Rob Scott
