Over here at the east-end of C.C.I. are the business teachers. No, we are not the Eastenders. Our names are Wilfred, Paul, Clayton , Preston , Lea , Roland , Leone , Marie and Alicia. These are our middle names. If you can match these names to the person, and you are the first to discover it, you will receive the price of this book ($20).
Two clues: 1) You will find the match-up in the previous year's Gleaner and 2) Mr. Dykstra's middle name is nothing to worry about. Good luck!
We do lots of things here in the Business Department. Most of us coach one team or another . Students who take business sub- jects participate in provincial and county contests in Keyboarding, Accounting and Word Processing . Those students who take Business English Co-op have placements at local businesses. This year the firms that participated were L.O.F., Mclean , Capin and Jamieson. The Ski Shop, Century 21, Lewis
Motors, the Hospital, The Enterprise Bulletin, the T D Bank, Marlin Travel, and many more . Sometimes these placements lead to good jobs. Something to remember, right? This is what one student said, "Train- ing and gaining experience were my two main reasons for applying for Co-op Educa- tion. My expectations so far have been realiz- ed." What do all employers look for? Ex- perience. What do you get in Business English? EXPERIENCE! A magic ingredient in today's world.
In addition , many business classes include in the learning process guest speakers and field trips to such places as provincial courts, police headquarters and the coroner's building in Toronto. So, as you can see, the Business Department here at C. C.I. MEANS BUSINESS!
