GOLF & TBNNIS TBAMS When 'Teed' off, They Raise a 'Racket'l
This year's Tennis Team had its' most successful season for many years. In the Regional Elimination Tournament in Bar- rie, all of the 16 C.C.I. entrants won at least one round. Athletes wanting to go to G.B.S.S.A. had to place in the top three teams in their category and this school had 9 players qualifying. In the Girl's Singles, Cherie Hunt placed 3rd, in Boy's Doubles Gonzalave Muller and Corey Stephenson placed 3rd and in the Girl's Doubles , Shelby Worts a n d Jen We is also placed 3rd . The Mixed Doubles Team of Derek Seymour and Tina Howton placed 2nd. At the G.B.S.S.A. Tournament hosted by C.C.I., there was much success with the Boy's Doubles Team of Stephenson and Muller placing 4th . The Girl's Doubles Team of Weis and Worts also placed 4th. This r e p r e s e n t e d a g r e a t j o b b y t h e C .C .I. team and there are great expectations for success in the future.

On September 24th ., the C.C.I. Junior Golf Team travelled to Midland to compete in the an- nual Huronia Invitational. There were 13 schools represented in the competition and our school
placed first with a wide margin of 17 strokes. Scores for members of the winning team were: Eric Sandell - 77, Mike Melnyk - 86, Steve Simato- 86, Kevin Garbutt -88, Paul Nicholson- 91 and Brad Weldon - 97. The 77 scored by Eric Sandell tied with the player from Midland, making this the top score of the day. This is the first time that a C.C.I. team has
won the Midland Tournament. We look forward to a strong
showing from this team in the spring as they tee-off at the
G.B.S.S.A.
