As the century was coming to a close. Owl Cross-Country Team members soared to an impressive 3'd place finish in Simcoe County's 23 team league. Consistent team finishes in five o f the six divisions made '99 a season of balance and. ultimately, success.The season highlight belonged to C.C.!.'s Junior Boys who brought home the hardware capturing the GBSSA title for the first time in two decades . Jeremy Enns paced the team for much o f the season that saw them to finish second in the league standings. Neil Manchee emerged as a lead runner as the season C!lme to a close and the GB championship tell within their sights. Sid Nurcombe. Bill Homer and Mike Stanley rounded out the championship squad. The team went on to participate in the OFSAA Championships in Etobicoke. The Midget Girls led by Erin Buie placed 3"' in the league and also captured a berth in the OFSAA championships by finishing 2"d at G.B.'s. Joining Erin as team members making it to the all-Ontario championships were Jen Davis. Mandy Thompson, Joanne Peddle. Erika Engle and Janice Potts. The prospects for future success shone brightly as the Midget Boys were 3'd as a team . Led by Nick Keast. the team placed 9'" at G.B.'s. The team also featured Will LePage. Adam Ondercin and Adam Danylchuk as members. The Junior Girls led by Jen Buie contributed a 7'" place finish .
