Retiring seniors of the Senior Boys Volleyball Team- Michael Hoang, James Shields , Jeremy McEachern, Tyler Hickling, and Jonas Deline led the Fighting Owls to one of their most successful seasons in a while. They knew how to win when it counted. They defeated archrival SCI during league play and then went on to defeat the number 1 rated Banting to qualify for the GBSSA tournament. This is the first time in quite a while that we have qualified for the GB tournament. A strong team next year will be anchored with pinpoint setting from Matthew Buie, hard hitting from big men Scott Tomlinson and Mitch Sheaves and seamless full court defense by Todd Sinclair.
The Senior Girls Volleyball Team had a terrific season, finishing1st overall in league competition in- cluding 5 wins and 0 losses. The team also competed in 3 tournaments having great success in all including a heartbreakerGBfinal against Eastview in a match that took 3 hours to determine the winner. Fortunately, our region had 2 reps travel to OFSAA championships in Kitchener. Our Fighting Owls represented our school with awesome pride and fantastic teamwork, winning 3 matches and reaching the consolation semi-finals, finishing its' season with 49 wins and 18 losses.
