SENIOR VOLLEYBALL

Some years a team will have all the "sharpies" and they have the backing of a lot of people,
and they bring that sport to the front for a period of time. Other years, the players may be so obscure as to make some wonder if there even is a team, and this year we saw a lot of new inexperienced faces. Well, you have to start somewhere, and this was a good year for starters. I
saw rapid improvement on the skills of a game which although is considered a minor sport is no easier to learn than basketball or football and in volleyball, the entire season is numbered
in weeks. In this period, there aren't many games played against individual schools, but it is culminated with one large tournament in which you either sink or swim. Contrary to the feelings and thoughts of some, we swam, and placed very well in this tournament. We didn't win any medals or ribbons but achieved something more, in the degree of teamwork and cooperation necessary
for individual sportsman and team to grow.
I would like to thank Mr. Darlington our coach, on the behalf of the players, for his time and work.
