BADMINTON AND TENNIS
Being a spring sport, our season is barely started when this report is written, however, from the early tournaments it appears that this years team is the strongest in several years. For the first time we have junior (under 16) and senior competition. We hope to send 4 teams to G.B.S.S.A. There is also a realistic chance of having a couple of these qualify for O.F.F.S.A.
Team members: Brian Gurney, Gary Powell, Tom Jong, Cathy Clarke, Barb Mayer, Nora Black, Sue McGlashan, Marc Lapointe, Jacquelyn Valcourt, Paul Pace, Gary Hawton, Krista Haiduk, Dave Kerr, James Maclean, Jim Janoff, Tony Cresswell, Vic Beamish, Brian Edwards, Maria Niro, Karen Black, Maxine Johnson.
The 19 members of CCI's Tennis Team are to be commended for their dedicated interest in tennis this year. Although no one advanced to GBSSA from the Zone meet in Barrie everyone displayed fine sportsmanship.
The following people reached the finals in the consolation rounds: Becky Blencowe & Julia Brown won Ladies Doubles, Brad Rich & Jodie Cormack (mixed doubles) finalists, Laurie Saunders- Ladies Singles finalists.
